Challenge
Our team was challenged by Homelite to create an easier-to-pull, quick-starting engine that required minimal arm strength to use. Aesthetic features had to round out the system by communicating innovation and differentiation to the consumer.
Result
Mechanical redesign of a recoil starting system case resulted in the trademarked Homelite "Zip Start™" easy engine starting technology. New form factors incorporated into the housing provided an updated Homelite image, while creating housing components that could be varied to offer multiple models with minimum retooling costs.
